Amazing at "Pin The Tail On The Donkey" !!

Our first introduction to the real Mikey Lloyd was at Matt's 5th birthday party.  We had just moved into the village and Matt started Infants school the same time as Jack Clare, Harry Smith and Mikey Lloyd in Sept 2005.  The boys all got on great from day 1 and walked to school every day even up to the point where they left The Weald to go onto Uni.

Matt had his 5th birthday in July 2006 and invited all his classmates to have a traditional 'family' birthday party with games in the garden as the weather was outstanding.    One of the games that afternoon was "Pin The Tail On The Donkey" and the kids all took it in turns to be blindfolded, spun around and guess.  When it came to Mikey's turn, blindfolded, span around and guessed, Mikey proceeded to pin the tail exactly in the correct place.  Amazing!!, beginners luck (or so I thought).  We played another round, and same result, bang on the money.  Third round and same result.  Mikey won all the prizes.  We then worked out that he had managed to find a tiny gap in the blindfold to see enough where to know where the tail needed to go!!  I can still see that cheeky little grin when he told me afterwards!!

After that moment, if the door ever bell rang, it would be Mikey for Matt.  They would then go round and get Jack and Harry and disappear for the afternoon spending hours talking, laughing, telling stories and doing what kids should be doing.

Diane, Rob and James - your loss is all of our losses. Mikey is an absolute credit to you all and a pleasure to have at the house and be around. I still expect the door bell to ring and see his cheeky, lovable glowing smile asking if Matt was in, and could they go out. While waiting for Matt to get out of bed Mikey always chatted and made the effort to ask about everybody.  A true gentleman.

The pleasure in knowing you was all ours, rest in peace our friend.  You are already missed.
